Every year there are a host of inspiring and influential architecture and design events happening right here in the UK. So if you’re wondering which ones to put in your diary this year, Here’s the Strada London round-up of events we think are not to be missed in 2019.

 

 

Clerkenwell Design Week

21–23 May 2019, London
When you hear ‘Clerkenwell’ you think ‘design’. This is the London district home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else on the planet. Celebrating its 10th year in 2019, expect an inspiring amalgamation of leading international brands, showroom events, exhibitions and installations. You’re guaranteed three days worth of inspiration you can apply to your next project.

 

 

London Festival of Architecture


1–30 June 2019, London
If you’re interested in seeing how London maintains its position as a global hub for architecture, this festival is one for you. The month-long event boasts over 500 unique events taking place across the capital. This year the festival will be exploring the theme of ‘boundaries’. The full programme is being unveiled on 1st May 2019 – this is a date you’ll want to put in your diary!

Birmingham Design Festival


6–8 June 2019, Birmingham
In its first year, this festival spanned the entire city and encouraged visitors to rethink their preconceptions of Birmingham. Now back for its second run, the new theme is ‘truth’, which entails a ‘warts-and-all’ look at the design industry through a line-up of practitioners and speakers ready to share their honest thoughts. The programme of free talks and headline events is being announced on 26th April and you can get advanced tickets from 1st May.

 

 

London Design Festival

14–22 September 2019, London
London is one of the most influential design capitals of the world – so why not celebrate it? London Design Festival is one of the most talked about events in the industry, with high profile Landmark Projects and V&A exhibitions as part of their line-up each year. Every year is bigger and better, further adding to London’s position as the global stage for the very best creative talent.

19-22 September 2019, London
This unmissable event is one of the most popular attractions for the London Design Festival, located in the creative heart of East London. Spanning four days, it brings together 550 exhibitors from all over the world, including designers, established brands, features and exhibitions. With over 29,000 influential attendees visiting to browse and specify the latest in furniture, lighting, textiles and materials, you’ll be in fantastic company.
