I’m Ailsa Connery, I’m a design director at 1508 London, I’ve been with the company six years and I’m an architect. 1508 London is a design company, we’ve been around eight years and we’ve worked on many different residential and commercial and hospitality projects, predominantly based here in London.

Most of our work tends to be high-end residential design but we’ve recently become more involved in hospitality projects including recent refurbishment of the Spa at the Lanesborough. As I said we work on a wide variety of residential projects from end-user homes to smaller developer projects to much larger developments, predominantly based here in London.

We worked on a small private developer project in Battersea. Again the client was, I would say a little bit demanding, but was looking to bring something quite different to the marketplace but very much curtailed by their budget and their programme. So we approached a number of different suppliers, but Strada excelled for us and we have a really good relationship now with them. In terms of being able to design something bespoke and being able to sample that and get a range of finishes, we haven’t found a better ironmongery company to deal with and it was so important for that particular project that we design something specific for it that would feel unique and tailored to that project.

I have to say, and it wouldn’t be often that I’d say this, but working with a company like Strada means that you actually get to build a relationship with someone that you get to meet time and time again, and we’ve been fortunate enough to work with Strada on many projects, not just private developments but much larger scale developments and also private client work.

Working with a company like that you build a relationship and that’s really important for us that we build relationships with our suppliers going forward, that we’re obviously able to give them the work and that they deliver for us and so working with Strada, and other suppliers, is such an important part of our job and building that as a relationship is really important to us. Strada have always been available whenever we need them, they’re very helpful but they deliver an excellent product.
