Working with the construction and refurbishment specialist contractor, Desertoak Limited of Evesham, under the direction of Haines Phillips Architects, Strada London was commissioned to provide the ironmongery for the museum. With both the restoration of Handel’s house and the later refurbishment of the Hendrix flat being possible only due to the award of Heritage Lottery Fund grants, the projects were high profile and so the specification of the architectural hardware was extremely important.
The solution chosen by Strada features ironmongery in the design and materials typical of the Georgian period in which the properties on Brook Street were constructed. The door handles, cabinetry fittings and escutcheons are manufactured from polished bronze and polished brass.
