From its origins as a grocer furnishing the world’s finest foods, Fortnum and Mason in Piccadilly has developed into a department store boasting a famous tea shop and several restaurants. Strada London was approached by the architect working with the retail fit-out specialists to supply finishing ironmongery to the retailer’s flagship store on Piccadilly.
The architect commissioned Strada London to supply a range of its Ferdinand Kramer door lever furniture in a brushed nickel finish. These iconic handles, designed in 1925 by the German modernist architect and functionalist designer Ferdinand Kramer, form part of the Bauhaus school. Strada London supplied door furniture of the highest quality, with a consistent finish across all pieces, to meet the contractor’s deadlines to the luxury Fortnum and Mason in Piccadilly.
