With a stunning waterfront location at the heart of London’s Royal Docks, ExCeL not only provides highly flexible exhibition space but is also home to London’s only international convention centre, ICC London. The facility’s excellent location, transport links and capacity were ably demonstrated when it hosted a number of events during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Strada coordinated the entire ironmongery contract for the new building. Hosting a huge number of events and attracting well over a million visitors each year, ExCeL needed durable architectural hardware to suit its high-traffic environment. Strada’s scope of supply included access control systems, door control devices, signage to fire doors and communal doors plus suited cylinders throughout the building. Strada also supplied lever handles, hinges, door closers, push plates and kick plates in grade 316 stainless steel.
With a tight programme for completion of work, the Strada team co-operated closely with the building contractor to dispatch door-sets to site in phases as required by the construction schedule. Meticulous project management from the Strada team ensured that the ironmongery for this prestigious project was delivered on time and within budget.
