Strada London was approached to provide an ironmongery solution to complement the interiors within the conversion of a three-storey property at the heart of London’s Covent Garden. The property was to be sympathetically converted into six contemporary apartments that would offer optimum space and light for modern living.
Working closely with the architects and the building contractors, Strada London submitted product and finish samples that would suit the proposed plans. The client accepted the recommendation of the Strada team for an antique brass finish that would provide contrast with the apartments’ white flush doors while complementing the warmth of the wooden floors and exposed London stock brickwork. Every item of architectural hardware required the same antique brass finish and Strada London was able to deliver a perfect match across all products through use of its electroplating plant and then refinishing of items as required to ensure congruence throughout the entire development.
The inside of each apartment retains large, open spaces through clever use of sliding partition walls to the living areas and bathroom suites. Strada London’s range of sliding door gear provided the required functionality, allowing the design of the apartments to meet the brief of minimal footprint with maximum use of space.
Careful choice of design and finish for the ironmongery in this stunning conversion has resulted in a highly desirable development that offers contemporary living while giving a subtle nod to the heritage of the building.
