Fortnum and Mason, Piccadilly

From its origins as a grocer purveying the world’s finest foods, Fortnum and Mason has developed into a department store that also boasts a famous tea shop and several restaurants. Strada London was approached by the architect working with the retail fit-out specialists to supply finishing ironmongery to the retailer’s flagship store on Piccadilly.

The architect commissioned Strada London to supply a range of its Ferdinand Kramer door lever furniture in a brushed nickel finish. These iconic handles, designed in 1925 by the German modernist architect and functionalist designer, Ferdinand Kramer, form part of the Bauhaus school. Strada London was able to supply door furniture of the highest quality, with a consistent finish across all pieces, to meet the contractor’s deadlines.
